Downloading and Registering the New Mobile App Provides Customers With Free Sandwich and a 6th McCafé Beverage Free* at Participating McDonald’s Restaurants
McDonald’s customers throughout San Diego have a new way to enjoy food and beverage deals with the launch of a brand new McDonald’s Mobile App, offering national and local weekly deals from the convenience of their smartphone.
Available for iOS and Android devices, the app will engage customers by providing convenient ways to interact with the McDonald’s brand, how and when they want. The app showcases McDonald’s commitment to meeting customers where they are and enhancing their lives by making McDonald’s offerings more convenient and valuable. To encourage participation, McDonald’s is offering a free large sandwich for the first 8 million customers who download the app and register*. Additionally, customers will have the opportunity to take advantage of local San Diego offers, and a frequency program through which they can earn a free McCafé drink after five McCafé drink purchases.
“Digital has become a really big focus at McDonald’s,” said Julia Vander Ploeg, vice president of digital at McDonald’s USA. “The Mobile App will transform how our customers engage with us by removing physical boundaries so they can connect to McDonald’s any time or place. While McDonald’s and our franchisees have partnered to create strong, valuable national and local offers for our customers, the app is fundamentally local and a way for customers to interact and engage with their everyday McDonald’s restaurant.”
In addition to national offers, customers will have the opportunity to take advantage of local San Diego offers. Initial San Diego-specific offers include buy one, get one free coupons for the classic Big Mac®, baked fresh Mini Bundts and new McCafé Lemonades.
“Being able to connect with our customers digitally through the mobile app gives us an entirely new way to provide them with the convenience and value they expect from McDonald’s,” said Bob Sutherland, president of the San Diego County McDonald’s Owner/Operator’s Association. “Additionally, the insights gained through the app will allow us to provide customers with customized deals that will help us personalize their visit every time.”
