McDonald's Expands Premium Coffee Offerings in San Diego
SAN DIEGO – October 6, 2008 – McDonald's is providing a convenient destination for coffee lovers in San Diego with the introduction of espresso-based McCafe Lattes, Cappuccinos and Mochas.
All McCafe Coffees are made with quality ingredients, including fully ripened Arabica coffee beans, which are harvested by hand in the warm climates of Central and South America, as well as in the mountainous regions of Indonesia. A state-of-the-art espresso machine grinds and pressure brews the beans on the spot.
Customers can further customize their espresso-based Lattes, Iced Lattes, Mochas, Iced Mochas and Cappuccinos with Caramel, Hazelnut, Vanilla and sugar-free Vanilla syrups, and by choosing whole or non-fat milk with their order. Lattes, Cappuccinos and Mochas are available in three sizes: small (12 ounces), medium (16 ounces) and large (20 ounces).
"McDonald's continues to seek new ways to meet consumers' needs while providing the quality, taste and service that they know and expect from us," said Philip Palumbo, president, McDonald's Owner/Operator's Association of San Diego. "By adding our espresso-based McCafe Coffees to the menu, we hope to become the ideal beverage destination of choice for San Diego County."
McDonald's continues to evolve with its consumers' taste. Many San Diego restaurants now feature leather seating, warm colors, flat screen televisions, computers and Wi-Fi access. According to Palumbo, this environment further enhances the McCafe experience providing convenience, comfortable seating and value.
"Wireless Internet and connectivity have become part of our everyday lives," said Palumbo. "With Wi-Fi access, McDonald's customers can kick back and relax with a latte and enjoy the ambience while surfing the Internet on their laptops."
McCafe Coffees are available at participating locations with more McDonald's restaurants to be added. Prices for McCafe Coffees will vary by restaurant and region and can be paid for with cash, McDonald's Arch Cards or other forms of cashless payment options at the drive-thru or in restaurant.
McDonald's USA, LLC is the leading foodservice provider in the United States, serving a variety of wholesome foods made from quality ingredients to millions of customers every day. More than 90 percent of McDonald's San Diego restaurants are independently owned and operated by local franchisees.
