Bold Burst of Summer Fruit Joins McCafé® Beverage Line With Mango Pineapple Real Fruit Smoothies at McDonald’s®
SAN DIEGO – June 28, 2011 – Just in time for the summer heat, San Diego McDonald’s is further diversifying its premium beverage offerings with the introduction of the cool and refreshing McCafé Mango Pineapple Real Fruit Smoothie.
The newest flavor of Real Fruit Smoothie is made from real fruit – mango and pineapple – and low-fat yogurt and is blended smooth with ice for a delightfully fresh summer drink. Like other Real Fruit Smoothies, including Strawberry Banana and Wild Berry, this new beverage is made to order and can be enjoyed in small (12-ounce), medium (16-ounce) and large (22-ounce) sizes.
“Our customers demand a variety of quality food at an affordable price, which is why we are pleased to grow our line of McCafé drinks, which also includes gourmet coffees and hot chocolate,” said Phil Palumbo, president of San Diego County McDonald’s Owner/Operator Association.
In addition to diversifying its beverage options to meet customers’ needs, San Diego County McDonald’s recently implemented a new 24-hour drive-thru schedule at many locations. With these extended hours, customers can turn to McDonald’s for quality food at any time of day.
McDonald’s has taken strides to increase coffee and beverage options since the launch of its Premium Roast Coffee in 2006 and McCafé drinks in 2009. Pure Arabica espresso beans harvested in Central and South America and the mountainous regions of Indonesia give a bold taste to McCafé Lattes, Cappuccinos, Mochas and Caramel Mochas. Iced coffee options include the Mocha Frappe and Caramel Frappe, both made with the signature taste of Premium Roast Coffee. The McCafé line also includes non-coffee drinks, including Real Fruit Smoothies, Frozen Strawberry Lemonade and Hot Chocolate.
McDonald’s USA, LLC is the leading foodservice provider in the United States, serving a variety of wholesome foods made from quality ingredients to millions of customers every day.
